Sports Injuries

Strains, sprains and overuse injuries from sport, exercise or physical activity.

What is Sports Injuries?

Sports injuries include muscle strains, ligament sprains, tendon problems and overuse injuries. They can happen through a sudden movement, a fall or collision, or gradually from repeating the same movement.

Many minor injuries improve with rest, ice and gentle movement, but the right rehabilitation helps you recover fully and lowers the risk of the injury coming back.

Common signs

  • Pain, swelling or bruising after activity
  • Reduced strength or range of movement
  • Pain that returns when you train
  • Tight or tender muscles
  • Instability in a joint such as the ankle or knee

How can therapists help?

Physiotherapists and sports therapists specialise in assessing injuries and guiding rehabilitation back to activity. Sports massage and soft tissue therapy can reduce muscle tightness and support recovery, while injury prevention programmes help you train safely.
